Quality Control

Autoportal utilises its experience, relationships, technology and innovation to ensure that potential issues with vehicles are identified before they leave Japan.
Our vehicle inspection process:

* Assessment of auction sheet as provided by Auction house.
* Physical inspection through our own buying staff, or in the case of distant auctions, the employment of a contracted inspection affiliate.
* Ramp inspection at port after purchase undertaken by our affiliate company ASTRAL*(see below) (currently only available for NZ clients)
* Odometer inspection by a well recognised Inspection Company.

All of these quality control measures are included in our fee.

*RAMP INSPECTION (New Zealand clients only)
As it is very difficult to accurately assess the under body and mechanics of a vehicle in Auction, Autoportal has employed the assistance of a professional vehicle inspection company, ASTRAL, to reassess our vehicles prior to shipment. The vehicles are driven up a ramp and the under body is inspected for corrosion and accident that may have been hard to pick prior to purchase. ASTRAL will also drive the vehicle up to 20kph to assess the transmission and engine condition. They will also provide numerous photographs from various aspects for the benefit of condition reporting and the clients marketing use. Cosmetic damage, items missing and sales points will be noted and compiled together with structural and mechanical in a report and provided to customer along with the photographs.
